Holly Fest and Pumpkins
Monday, October 27th, 2008We have had a busy weekend here in the Maravillas’ household. Nana, Papa and Uncle Awesome were in town to celebrate Uncle Matt’s birthday (a week early). On Saturday we went to Holly Spring’s annual fall festival- Holly Fest. It started out to be a yucky day but soon the sun peeked out and it was a really nice afternoon. We wandered around the arts and crafts section and Nicholas got a sock monkey. I am much more excited about it than he is though. It sits in his crib with him in the hopes that one day he will notice him and fall in love like I have. Then we had lunch and of course, Nicholas got to swing.
Today after everyone left, we took Nicholas to a gourd farm to pick out our Halloween pumpkins. It was a small but pretty neat place. We went on another hayride and Nicholas is still a fan. This time the ride was through the surrounding woods and the owners decorated it up all spooky. Nicholas really liked the ghosts and bats that hung overhead from tree branches. They also had goats and a donkey to ride, but he was too little. He did like watching the goats though. We picked out a pumpkin for mommy and daddy to share then Nicholas got his own. He will paint it this week since he is too little for a carving knife.
