4 month check up!

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

We took Nicholas to the pediatrician today for his 4 month well baby check up. Here are our little string bean’s stats. I bet he is going to be long and lean like his Dad.

Weight- 15 pounds 8.5 ounces- 70th percentile

Height- 26 inches- 85th percentile

Head Circumference- 17.25 inches- 85th percentile

Dr. Simpson checked him all out and proclaimed him to be ‘perfect’! Of course we know that but it is always nice to hear it from a doctor. :) We got the green light to start solid foods (well, pureed foods) but I think we will wait a couple more months. He will continue getting the Zantac twice a day for his GER. He got a few vaccinations too. He did much better with the oral vaccine this time. He actually was biting down and sucking it out of the dispenser whereas last time he refused to swallow. Then he got two shots in one leg and one in the other. He screamed of course. I had a hold of his hands and he actually squeezed when the nurse stuck him. It was so sweet, but also a little sad. I just hate hearing him cry in pain. Matthew was there this time (mommy moral support!), and he hated hearing him cry like that too. We go back in 2 months.

Here is a link to a really cool video of the little guy!

What a difference a year makes

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

It was a year ago today, April 16, 2007, that we found out I was pregnant. At the time we were also planning a move down to North Carolina, Matthew had just started his new job and I was planning on leaving my job due to the move. And then we found out we were expecting a little one! :) Obviously, last April and May was a busy time for us! And now just a short year later, we have a great house in NC, Matthew is really enjoying his work and we have a beautiful son! I feel so blessed to have the life I do and to be this little guy’s mother. I am very lucky to have had so much love and support from my husband and family throughout the past 12 months and now. All in all, it is a good time for us!

Enjoy the latest pictures!

On a more somber note, it was also a year ago today that the horrific shootings at VA Tech took place. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy for continued healing and peace.

big smiles! chillin’ on the couch i <3 my fingers.
