Here is the latest picture. I am still not sure how he and I are both going to keep growing for 8 more weeks, but we’ll see!

I am about 4 pounds and over 16 inches long now. All five of my senses are working now and my eyes can even adjust to light. Too bad its dark in here! My skin is getting more pink as I am accumulating fat to finish up that cherub appearance I’ll have when I am born. So keep those cakes and cookies coming, mom! Only 8 more weeks to my debut…

This past Saturday was my baby shower. It was simply wonderful! My mom did a fabulous job planning the whole thing, keeping every detail in mind to make it so special. Matthew’s mom made a beautiful centerpiece that matches Nicholas’ room perfectly! Everyone made delicious food too, which I definitely enjoyed! I still cannot believe how generous everyone has been towards us. Nicholas got a lot of great things and now has a very full closet! It was so good to see my friends and everyone who could make it to the party. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

I am getting bigger and stronger everyday! I am 16 inches long and weigh about 3 1/2 pounds.  All of my organs are done growing except for my lungs and brain.  These will continue to mature until birth.  I can turn my head side to side, and I am really exercising my arms and legs these days.  I pretty much look like I will when I am born, but I will continue to gain weight until d-day.  The countdown is at single digits now… 9 more weeks till my big debut!

Nicholas and I are 3/4 of the way through this little adventure now! I am feeling alright, just sore and having trouble sleeping. I figure it’s just prep for when he gets here. I am really excited about this weekend because it’s my baby shower! I will get to see my best friends and cannot wait for the big party. And the food!

We, well I should say, Matthew painted the nursery. It’s a really nice shade of light turquoise and will match the bedding perfectly. We will buy the crib and dresser next month then all we will need is Nicholas! Here are some pictures. Matthew really did a great job!

Mommy and I are 3/4 of the way there! I am about 3 pounds now and am almost 16 inches long. Although mommy is starting to feel like I weigh a lot more. My eyes are completely developed, but even once I am born I will only be able to see things close up. The light hair that once covered me, lanugo, is falling out to be replaced by permanent hair, my eyelashes are in tact and even my toenails are growing! My lungs and brain continue to develop and mature in order to be ready for my big debut in just 10 weeks.

I am about 2 1/2 pounds and over 15 inches long now. My head is more proportionate to the rest of me thanks to my developing brain. Mommy needs to eat and drink a lot more calcium these days as my bones are getting harder and stronger. My lungs and muscles continue to mature. Only 11 more weeks till my debut!

On a mommy note, we had a little worry last week. She didn’t pass the first gestational diabetes test. So the doctor made her come back to drink even more icky glucola that made her feel sick and then wait around for hours while they took her blood- 4 times! But thankfully she passed that test so she and I are perfectly healthy! And she doesn’t have to give up those cookies that I love so much!

I am over 2 pounds and am about 15 inches long. My brain is rapidly developing now, and its even starting to get wrinkles! My eyes are completely developed and I can even maybe see a light that is shined on mom’s belly. I recognize voices and am very active these days. I have about 2-3% body fat and will continue to get chubbier from now until I debut.

I am officially in the 3rd trimester! Yay!! Finally the home stretch, 12 weeks and counting till Nicholas’ big debut. Here is the latest and greatest belly picture. Please excuse the crazy person hair, it was a long day! Zoë wanted to get in on the fun too.
