23 Months Old
One more month till our baby is 2 whole years old! Seems like just yesterday I was waddling around anxiously awaiting his arrival. Some of his new talents include galloping. He has perfected it, which is good because he fell a lot on the sidewalk till he figured it out. We aren’t sure where he came up with it, but one day he just started. He can also identify some letters such as A, D, N, O, S, Y and a couple of others that I can’t remember. He is also learning colors and knows blue, green and red. He still loves choo choo trains (to play and watch on TV), buses and bulldozers. Oh, he has started saying “bulldozer” rather than just “dozer”. He loves to see the horses, cows and bulldozers as we come and go from the neighborhood.
Since he is getting to be such a big boy, we decided it was time to wean him from the binkie. He has only gotten it for nap and bedtime for months now, but that is no more. Today was the first nap sans binkie and he did alright. No hysterical crying at all, but he did whine on and off for a bit. Hopefully it won’t be too hard tonight.
We are slowly getting the Christmas decorations out and that includes Advent Calendars. We have two this year, one with ornaments and another with chocolate. Last year, Nicholas’ Nana made ornaments to hang on his own little tree each day leading up to Christmas. So far he likes picking out one each day and hanging it up. I usually fix it a little but make sure to keep it on the same branch that he picked out.
He is also quickly learning that when he tears open the little flap that Mommy points to on the other calendar that he finds chocolate!
